2024 was a pretty wild year for country music. It has had its fair share of controversy, and arrests, and a few non-country crossovers to create a buzz all year round.

According to "Taste of Country", here are the 10 most shocking country news stories in 2024:

1. Garth Brooks was accused of rape by his former hair and makeup artist.

2. Morgan Wallen was arrested. I've never talked about a chair more in my life.

3. Toby Keith passed away back in February, at the age of 62.

4. Rory Feek was sued by two of his daughters over the care of their sister, Rory's youngest daughter.

5. Beyoncé goes country. What cross-over star do you think will anger country fans in 2025?

6. Darius Rucker was arrested with mushrooms and some pot back in February. He pleaded no contest and was put on probation.

7. Chris Young was arrested for assault of a police officer in January. But video soon proved that he was innocent and the charges were dropped.

8. Shaboozey has the biggest hit in the country music world. "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" was released in April, and has dominated the airwaves ever since.

9. Post Malone goes country. His album "F-1 Trillion" has certainly been polarizing. Some love it, and some sure do hate it.

10. Kevin Costner's character John Dutton was killed off in "Yellowstone".
