Cover songs are so hit-and-miss. If they aren't better than the original, everyone's like, "Why am I listening to a worse version right now?"

But then some cover songs come along, and they stop you in their tracks. Ones that are so good by themselves, that they also make you appreciate how great the original was, too.

The first is by Stephen Wilson Jr. and his cover of "Stand by Me". There are over 400 recorded versions of this song, since it was first written and performed by Ben E. King in 1961. But Stephen's take on it might be the most original, and worth a listen.

And the second cover you'll want to hear is by Oliver Anthony. He takes on John Denver's classic, "Take Me Home, Country Roads". It's such an authentic version.
