Sorry guys, our time is up. Because Spotify has officially declared 2024, the "Year of the Cowgirl".
They cite the explosion of Country music and how it's hitting more of a mainstream audience. Did you know that Country has seen a 110% increase in the last five years for U.S. streams on Spotify?
Here are some more reasons that 2024 is the "Year of the Cowgirl":
1. They said more celebrities and influencers are wearing western boots, and wide-brimmed hats to emulate cowgirls.
2. Superstars like Beyoncé crossing over and embracing her Country roots for her album "Cowboy Carter" earlier this year.
3. A "coastal cowgirl" playlist is super popular on Spotify now, plus the "neon cowgirl" playlist has more than a 100% increase in streams in 2024.
4. This year more than 220,000 user-generated "cowgirl" playlists have been created. The top songs that have been added are: "Jolene" by Dolly Parton . . . "Cowgirls" by Morgan Wallen . . . and "Tennessee Orange" by Megan Moroney.
