Road Trip Playlist: The Best Country Song for All 50 States

If you're planning a road trip, this list has got you covered. Even if it's a VERY long trip: The site "Wide Open Country" posted the best country song to play in all 50 states. Here are the highlights:

1. For Arizona, "Ocean Front Property" by George Strait. (1986) It's a guy claiming he doesn't love a woman. Then he says, "If you'll buy that, I've got some ocean front property in Arizona."

2. "My Home's in Alabama" by the band Alabama. (1979)

3. For Arkansas, the song "Arkansas" by Chris Stapleton (2020)

4. For California, "Streets of Bakersfield" by Dwight Yoakam and Buck Owens. (1988)

5. For Colorado, "Rocky Mountain High" by John Denver. (1972)

6. For Florida, "Miami, My Amy" by Keith Whitley. (1985)

7. For Kentucky, "Coal Miner's Daughter" by Loretta Lynn. (1970)

8. For Louisiana, "City of New Orleans" by Willie Nelson. (1984) "Callin' Baton Rouge" by Garth Brooks also got a shout-out.

9. For Maine, "King of the Road" by Roger Miller. (1965) About a "man of means by no means," and he's on a train headed for Bangor, Maine.

10. For Massachusetts, "Boston" by Kenny Chesney. (2005)

11. "Mississippi Girl" by Faith Hill. (2005) She's from the tiny town of Star, Mississippi, just outside Jackson.

12. For New Mexico, the song "New Mexico" by Johnny Cash. (1964)

13. For New York, "Rhinestone Cowboy" by Glen Campbell. (1975) About a musician who moves to New York City to make it big.

14. For North Carolina, "Wagon Wheel" by Old Crow Medicine Show. (2004) About a guy hitchhiking from New England to Raleigh, North Carolina.

15. For Oklahoma, "Okie from Muskogee" by Merle Haggard. (1969)

16. For South Carolina, the Josh Turner song, "South Carolina, Low Country". (2007)

17. For Tennessee, the Dolly Parton song, "Tennessee Mountain Home". (1973)

18. For Texas, "All My Ex's Live in Texas" by George Strait. (1987) "Texas (When I Die)" by Tanya Tucker also got a nod.

19. For Utah, "Salt Lake City" by Hank Williams Jr. (1966)
