Got a kid graduating this month? Here's some inspiration for that slideshow you've been workin' on. "The Boot" just ranked the top ten country songs for graduations. What do you think got the top spot?
1. "Humble and Kind" by Tim McGraw. They ranked it first because of lyrics like this: "Don't expect a free ride from no one / Don't hold a grudge or a chip, and here's why / Bitterness keeps you from flying / Always stay humble and kind."
2. "I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womack. That one's STILL a top song for graduations 23 years later.
3. "Letter to Me" by Brad Paisley. It's an older guy giving his younger self advice.
4. "Ready, Set, Don't Go" by Billy Ray Cyrus. He wrote it when Miley moved to L.A. to get into acting. (Her song "The Climb" didn't make the list, but that's another good one.)
5. "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts. Another classic graduation song.
6. "The River" by Garth Brooks. The lyrics apply to anyone pursuing their dreams.
7. "Wide Open Spaces" by The Dixie Chicks. About heading out into the world, and the excitement of what's to come.
8. "Don't Blink" by Kenny Chesney. A reminder to slow down and savor every minute.
9. "Don't Forget to Remember Me" by Carrie Underwood. Fun fact: It was co-written by Chris Stapleton's wife Morgane Stapleton. (pronounced "Morgan")
10. "Keep in Mind" by LoCash. A reminder to never forget the people who got you to where you are.
