Here's a funny way to get more dates: Make sure at least one of your dating profile pics shows you with a cat. A new poll found it makes us more attractive.
75% of cat owners said they'd be more interested in someone if one of their photos showed them holding a cat. And even 61% of people who DON'T have cats agreed. So it ups your chances across the board.
The poll didn't ask about dogs. But a study last year found dog photos probably work too. Women thought men were more attractive when there was a dog in their profile pics, especially a SMALL dog.
The new poll also found the average cat owner would rather date someone who's unemployed than someone who openly HATES cats.
The biggest deal-breakers for cat owners are: Openly hating cats, being allergic to them, living more than an hour away, being unemployed, and owning a dog. For people who don't own cats, being unemployed is #1.
Here's one more dating tip: Two in five people said they've gone home with someone specifically to meet the person's pet. So if you're hoping for a little heavy petting, just invite them in for some ACTUAL petting.
