Fast food places have one job: Providing you with the food you want...FAST. But what if you don't get the food you want, and it's not fast?

A data analysis company that uses "mystery shoppers" to grade places on customer experience just released an annual report on fast food joints.

For the report, the mystery shoppers went to 10 chains at more than 1,500 locations nationwide from June through July . . . and here's what they found:

The average total time spent in drive-thru lanes decreased by about 10 seconds from a year ago to 372 seconds. That's more than six minutes, and it's almost a minute longer than pre-pandemic times.

Overall, order accuracy is about 85% in this year's report, which is about the same as last year. That means 15% of the orders were NOT filled correctly.

The five FASTEST chains are: KFC, Taco Bell, Hardee's, Dunkin, and Carl's Jr. Chick-fil-A was #1 last year, but they were DEAD LAST this year.

On average, Chick-fil-A had the most cars in line, but they weren't last just because of long lines. They measured lane wait time AND at-the-window service time, and Chick-fil-A was the slowest for both.

Arby's and McDonald's TIED for first in order accuracy this year, followed by Burger King, Carl's Jr, and Hardee's. Chick-fil-A was #1 last year, but they tied for seventh this year. Wendy's had the worst accuracy.

For what it's worth, the most common error is including the wrong BEVERAGE.

If you're wondering, Starbucks was NOT included. The 10 chains in the report are: Arby's, Burger King, Carl's Jr, Chick-fil-A, Dunkin, Hardee's, KFC, McDonald's, Taco Bell, and Wendy's.
