Only 9% of People Still Send Thank You Letters

Here's a simple pleasantry that's going away: Sending thank you notes used to be common. But a new poll found only 9% of us would send a handwritten note now. That's down from 20% a decade ago.

The most common way we say thanks for something big is with a phone call now. Handwritten letters are eighth.

Phone calls might not even be first much longer. Sending a message over text and things like WhatsApp are gaining ground. Emails and Facebook messages rounded out the top five.

You might want to reconsider the handwritten note thing though. The poll found they're still seen as the most meaningful way to say thanks.
