It's National Ex-Spouse Day, when you're supposed to forgive them for all the CRAP they put you through. Easier said than done...
It's really more about letting go of all that stuff, so YOU can move on. A reverend in Kansas City came up with it back in 1987.
So here's a question: Do you think it's possible to stay FRIENDS with someone after a divorce? 68% of Americans in a recent poll said YES, sure it is. And another 18% said maybe. Only 14% said no way.
Here are a few more quick stats for Ex-Spouse Day:
1. A survey a few years ago on the top things we found ANNOYING about our ex-spouses include: Their snoring, their selective hearing, how they were such a control freak, and how bad they were with money.
2. Have you ever gotten back together with an ex? Not necessarily a divorce, but a break-up? 44% of Americans have, and half of those people said more than once.
3. Do you agree with the statement, "I'm only happy when I'm in a relationship?" 30% of us do. That includes 37% of men, and 23% of women, but it's not clear how many divorced people agree.
