A Study Found People Have Never Been More Afraid to Speak Their Mind

No matter where you stand on cancel culture stuff, THIS stat can't be good for the whole freedom of speech thing: A new study found Americans are more afraid to speak their mind than EVER BEFORE.

90% of people said they've held back at least once in the past 18 months, because they felt it would be "emotionally or physically unsafe" to say what they were really thinking. The two topics we're most intimidated to talk about are politics and the pandemic.

In the last year-and-a-half, 47% of us have avoided someone, so our opinions wouldn't clash, 19% have pretended to agree with a statement we disagreed with, and 14% have stopped talking to someone we didn't see eye-to-eye with.
