Did you know that March is National Women’s History Month? It’s a true fact! And let’s face it, being a woman is about more than birthin’ babies. Like the old commercial proclaimed: women “can bring home the bacon AND fry it up in a pan.” Men are important, but so are the ladies. So every day for the month of March, we’re taking a moment each day to look at the way women have made the world a better place.
March 8th is International Women’s Day! The first IWD celebration took place in 1911. That’s when more than one-million people in Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland attended rallies and events to campaign for women's rights and to end gender discrimination.
To that end, let’s pause today to reflect on ten great quotes from ten great women:
- I declare to you that woman must not depend upon the protection of man, but must be taught to protect herself, and there I take my stand.” – Susan B. Anthony
