The U.S. may hold the nickname of "America the Beautiful," but the awe-inspiring scenery, breathtaking views and one-of-a-kind outposts stretch far beyond the borders of the states.
LoveExploring compiled a list of the "most beautiful attractions" found around the "vast and diverse" continent that is North America, searching for incredible spots like "captivating cities," sparkling waters in hidden lakes and picturesque wilderness stretching as far as the eye can see. Among the list are three gorgeous spot in Arizona: the unique appearance of The Wave at Vermilion Cliffs National Monument (No. 3), the vast beauty of the Grand Canyon (No. 4) and the "dreamy" Havasu Falls in Supai (No. 48).
Here's what the site had to say about these stunning spots:
"This eye-popping, mind-bending rock formation would look very much at home in the lobby of a world-class art gallery. But The Wave has been sculpted by nature, creating a swirling sea of sandstone striped in red, gold, apricot, and cream."
"Finding an ugly inch of the Grand Canyon, or a bad angle to view it from, would be quite a task. The grandaddy of all the continent's canyons is simply breathtaking, no matter how one looks at it."
"This dreamy waterfall makes its velvety cascade in a remote area a little outside the national park. The landscape is incredible, with dramatic, honey-colored gorgeous, waterfalls, and blue-green swimming holes, with the vivid colors of Havasu Falls the most striking of all."
