Gabby Barrett Embraces 'Holiday Mode' With Heartfelt Renditions Of Classics

Gabby Barrett marked the beginning of the holiday season with her first-ever holiday album, Carols and Candlelight. The collection of Christmas classics β€” with a few collaborations β€” made its debut on Friday (November 8).

Barrett, 24, announced the 11-track album last month. She said at that time that β€œChristmas is my FAVORITE time of the year,” and although Halloween hadn’t happened yet, β€œmy heart is in HOLIDAY MODE!!!!! πŸŽ„β€ Carols and Candlelight features Barrett’s renditions of β€œMary, Did You Know?,” β€œBaby, It’s Cold Outside” featuring her husband, Cade Foehner, β€œGo Tell It On The Mountain” with for KING & COUNTRY, β€œSilent Night” and more. Barrett reunited with producer Ross Copperman on Carols and Candlelight after working together on Barrett’s sophomore album.

Carols and Candlelight is Barrett’s second album to release this year. She debuted her sophomore record, Chapter & Verse, after about three years in the making. Barrett co-produced the album with Copperman, and served as a writer on nine of the 14 tracks. That project β€” bookended with β€œThe Chapter” and β€œThe Verse: Doxology (Amen),” featuring Phil Wickham β€” included β€œCowboy Back,” β€œDance Like No One’s Watching,” β€œGlory Days,” β€œGrowin’ Up Raising You,” β€œYou’re My Texas” and more.
