Blake Shelton is getting ready to release new music on Friday (August 19), and the award-winning artist made the announcement in classic country style. Doing a cowboy hat, Shelton insisted he “had to bring back the mullet just for y’all.”

“No Body” marks one of the latest releases from Shelton since releasing his Body Language deluxe album last year. The 16-track edition included fan-favorites like Shelton’s smash-hit single “Come Back As A Country Boy,” along with “Minimum Wage,” “Happy Anywhere” (a duet with his wife, fellow Voice coach Gwen Stefani) and the romantic “We Can Reach The Stars,” Shelton’s wedding tribute to Stefani. Shelton described “Come Back As A Country Boy” as “an anthem for everyday hardworking country people out there. We have so much pride in who we are and what we do that, if we ever died and got the chance to live life over again, we probably wouldn’t do it if we couldn’t be country.”

Since releasing the deluxe album, Shelton has also debuted a new version of one of his earliest hits. He released an acoustic version of “Austin,” one of 10 tracks included on the country artist’s first album in 2001. More than two decades later, the acoustic version offered a new emotional spin, and fans applauded the “amazing” performance. Shelton’s fans and social media followers were eager for his new music when he made the announcement on Monday (August 15). See Shelton’s mullet here:
