Randy Travis and his wife Mary testified before Congress last week in defense of the American Music Fairness Act, a bill that aims to compensate artists when their songs are played on the radio.

Mary said, quote, "This piece of legislation is essential to correct a hundred-year-old issue regarding artists and nonpayment for their work performed on the most prominent music platform in America, which they helped to build and sustain."

And in an interview with "Good Morning America", Mary said, quote, "After [Randy's] stroke, we depend more on royalties because he can't tour."
