Is It Rude to Leave a New Year's Party Before Midnight?

If you're going to a friend's New Year's Eve party, don't overstay your welcome. Unless it's a rager, they might want you to bounce by 1:00 A.M.

A poll asked people how long it's acceptable to stay after the ball drops. And 52% said no longer than one hour. But don't leave too early either . . . 45% also think it's rude to take off before midnight. Here are a few more quick stats . . .

1. The average host will invite 19 guests. And a lot of us THINK we'll be hosting this year, but probably won't be. Close to a third of us expect to host, but that would mean lots of VERY small parties. (Does three people count as a party?)

2. The best things you can bring to a New Year's party are booze, desserts, other food, and party favors.

3. Over half of people said it's the one day of the year you should never be alone. But 59% of us HAVE spent New Year's Eve alone before.

4. 60% of us have made a friend or met a significant other at a New Year's party.

5. 36% already have a New Year's resolution in mind.
